INTRODUCTION

After a life of making the coffee at your work (practically living like a Helot!) your editor at the Athenian Press has decided to give you a chance to write an article and see if you’re cut out for journalism. Your editor has given you some choice over the topic area of your article, but it must address an aspect of Ancient Greece. Little does your editor know though, that you have access to the Internet, something the other Ancient Greek journalists haven’t even heard of! As you are only new in the job you have to prove that you are capable of researching and writing an article. Use the web to the best of your abilities and write a good article and you will keep your job, otherwise it could be back to making the coffee with you!

TASK

To write a newspaper article.

Your editor has given you the choice of one of the following topics:

TOPIC

POSSIBLE ARTICLES

Sports Olympics

You must include in your article:

·        A headline

·        A main story

·        An ancient Greek advertisement

You must demonstrate your knowledge and prove to your editor you can research, analyse and report! Be sure to include the “Who, What, When, Why, Where & How” in your article.

You are encouraged to be creative. You may wish to include:

Interviews, Diaries, Letters, Pictures, Graphs, Timelines, etc.
