~ Un parc à thème français ~

L'Introduction

Theme parks are an integral part of the tourist industry in many countries. From the Disneyland parks across the world to the world-class theme parks on Australia's Gold Coast, all promise days of fun and entertainment for the whole family.

But how representative are they of the different cultures they strive to entertain? Do they encompass aspects of a variety of cultures or do they have a bias towards the United States of America?

How can theme parks incorporate aspects of other cultures without affecting their ability to entertain and amuse their visitors?

Through undertaking this series of assignments you will:

  • compare and contrast theme parks across the world
  • study a region of France
  • design a theme park ride or attraction and associated food, merchandise and accommodation which incorporate aspects of the region's culture
  • present your designs to your class
  • undertake a conversation with a class member discussing a day at your theme park

Assignment 1 - Theme Park Comparison

Assignment 2 - Region of France Research

Assignment 3 - Theme Park Attraction Design
