Task:
Design a Children’s Storybook which outlines the dangers of smoking.
Your book is intended to give information about the dangers and risks associated
with smoking – both long and short term.
Process:
-
You will need to complete some basic research to help in the planning
and completion of this storybook.
- You
are advised to use more than one source for your research so as to gain
a better understanding of your topic.
- You
should document all sources of information that you used by compiling
a bibliography. A Bibliography
Template and a Webliography
Template (for Internet resources) can be downloaded off
the Intranet.
- Before
attempting the final book, spend some time planning it by constructing
a rough copy which outlines where the drawing/pictures/text will go.
- The
book is to be word processed using a desktop publishing program to give
it a professional finish.
Storybook requirements:
Your book must include the following elements:
- An
illustrated and coloured front cover which contains the title of the
book and the author’s name.
- Short
sentences on each page which relate to the topic. Keep these sentences
brief as it is a children’s book. You must not use dot points.
- Coloured
illustrations on each page to support the storyline.
- A
humorous storyline that still gets across the message of the dangers/risks
of smoking. A back cover which has a ‘blurb’ which tells
the reader what the book is about.
