THE TASK

  1. Select one type of traditional Aboriginal art/craft from the list below. 
  • Cave Paintings......eg Arnhem Land, Kakadu
  • Rock Engravings
  • Rock Paintings.......eg Flinders Ranges
  • X-Ray Paintings.....eg Arnhem Land
  • Western Desert Art.....eg Alice Springs
  • Bark Painting
  • Ground "Painting"....eg Central Desert
  • Body Decoration/Art
  • Totemic art...(Mortuary poles)
  • Weapons and utensils (including the art on them)
  • Didgeridoo
  • Weaving and Basket Making
  1. Research your chosen art/craft form, and answer the questions as outlined on the Analysis sheet provided.
  • Click your Right mouse button HERE: and open the online Analysis sheet in another window. You will then be able switch between this page and the analysis sheet by clicking on the task bar buttons at the bottom of your screen.
  • Click bekow for useful internet sites. Use the right-button-click trick whichever site you go to, so that you then have 3 different windows open to switch between:  
    • this page for task instructions and useful links
    • the analysis sheet where you are recording your answers
    • the internet site you are currently referring to. 
      NB - close each internet site [by clicking on X in top right corner] before opening another one; otherwise you will open too many windows and the computer will seize up! 
  1. Submit a print out of your Analysis sheet for assessment. You may also wish to save it to a floppy disk.

Aboriginal Art
