BIBLIOGRAPHY

Just like any other assignment that you do, your Webquest must contain a bibliography of all the resources you used to create it.

There are a variety of ways to cite resources that you use but for the purposes of this assignment we’ll use the MLA Style (Modern Language Association).

The two major types of resources you will be citing are webpages and graphics. Below are the list of bibliographic details you need to include for these resources.

Name of author or creator (if given). Title of Web site. Date of electronic publication or revision. Name of any institution or organization associated with the site. Access date. [URL].

Example

Smith, John. Science World. 2 January 2003. South Australia University. 1 May 2003 [http://www.scienceworld.usa.edu.au]

Should you need to cite other resources, link to “MLA Style” which will explain what details you should include. How do I document sources from the Web in my works-cited list? (MLA)

COPYRIGHT

Copyright is the exclusive right of an author of a piece of work  “to control the reproduction of their material and the communication of that material to the public”, granted by law for a specific number of years.

In Australia, the Copyright Act protects a wide range of material, including information posted on the Internet.

Prior to completing your Webquest, read some of the information supplied by the Australian Copyright Council and Copyright Aware so that you have some understanding about how you can and can’t use copyrighted material on your Webquest.

Read and note each of the following pages. We will discuss your findings as a class to ensure everyone understands the principles involved.
