Adelaide High School has a highly regarded International Program.
The school enrols students into a number of programs designed for students from overseas. These include:
- Intensive Secondary English Class (ISEC)
- High School Graduate Program
- High School Study Abroad Program

Intensive Secondary English Class (ISEC)
The ISEC program is offered in a learning environment that nurtures social cohesion and intercultural perspectives for students before they enter the mainstream. This class consists of no more than fourteen students, who have a program specially designed to assist in developing their English proficiency, their knowledge of Australia and Australian lifestyle and introductory courses designed to familiarise students with schooling in Australia.
High School Graduate Program
Students generally enter mainstream classes after they have studied in the school's ISEC course. Students choose the High School Graduate Program if they wish to complete their senior studies in South Australia and gain the SACE (South Australian Certificate of Education).
High School Study Abroad Program
Students may choose a 1, 2, 3 or 4 term program High School Study Abroad Program. These courses may include a 10 week course in ISEC. Students enter mainstream classes to improve their English proficiency and develop an understanding of life and schooling in Australia.
Schools may negotiate with International Education Services (a branch of the Department for Education and Child Development) to have a two week program at Adelaide High School. This program includes English classes, experiential programs of mainstream lessons and excursions in and around Adelaide.
