The Adelaide High School Student Representative Council is the democratic arm of student voice.

It consists of Pastoral Care representatives from Years 8-12. The SRC General Assembly meet on a regular basis to ensure that all students are heard and their views represented in a decision making forum.

The SRC has a strong emphasis on human rights and organises activities that raise awareness in this area. Apart from the awareness raising role, the SRC supports a range of charities who undertake work in local communities as well as in overseas countries. Students who join the SRC are working as integral members of the global community who are passionately concerned about making the world a better place.

The SRC has representatives who elect to sit on various school and Governing Council subcommittees such as Canteen, Uniform and even the Governing Council itself.

The SRC forms a council from Pastoral Care group members who then elect a President and other office bearers. The Council meets on a regular basis at lunch times to:

  • Discuss matters brought before it by students.
  • Deal with matters referred to it by the Principal.
  • Organise fundraising activities.

Pastoral Care Group members relay information from the SRC back to the students in their class. All SRC members wear a badge and after three years of service they are presented with an SRC tie.
