Welcome

Adelaide High School, established in 1908, is the first free high school in South Australia, catering for over 1400 students from Years 8 -12. Adelaide High School is recognised as a successful and innovative school offering students care and attention in a supportive community environment. It has held this reputation since its inception.

In 1979 Adelaide High School was designated as South Australia's only Special Interest Language School, enabling students to enrol to study two of the seven languages on offer. Complementing the Languages Other than English specialisation is a strong program in English as a Second Language. Uniting all elements of the school is an appreciation of, and respect for, a diversity of cultures and practices and the development of international mindedness.

All programs on offer at Adelaide High School are underpinned by our school motto non scholae sed vitae, not only for school but for life.  Our curriculum, co-curricular program and House system challenge, engage, enrich, support and accelerate student learning. The Pastoral Care programs provide opportunities for students to learn about themselves and to develop skills to contribute positively to our school and local and global communities.
